Parameters and Goal

Parameters matter in this crazy world. Our main one is that this is not a money making operation for me, I'm doing this on my own time with my own money. Which may impact speed at some points as I have a day job and kids.

The Goal is to connect individuals or groups wishing to volunteer with groups and people in the area that need them. Randomly showing up is not the best option if you want to truly help. Therefore we are putting together a list of groups already in the area for you to see where you or your group may fit best.

Background

I was born in Rutherford County back in the 70's and have spent most of the rest of my life in Northwestern NC and East TN. With the majority of that time in the outdoors from fishing and biking to rock climbing and raft guiding, it has been an adventure.

My family has been in WNC for over 200 years, in little hollars and some of the most beautiful areas on the planet in my opinion. This disaster called Helene did a number on much of that beauty, but we are resilient folk up here. Always have been and always will be.

From logging to moonshine, from the beginnings of Nascar to many country music stars, the affected areas have some pretty far reaching roots.

My aim is to lessen the confusion.

While many people have offered to help, and have helped immensely here at the beginning. This event will take many months and years of work to recover and rebuild.

Many people have asked how to help. Making this site a central hub for all groups to publish when they need volunteers, or special needs & supplies for certain unaffiliated groups or residents to be able to communicate with those wishing to help.
